The Holland America Group is currently searching for an experienced Senior Compensation Consultant to join our expanding Shipboard Compensation team. Led by our Shipboard Compensation Manager, we seek a creative, seasoned project manager who will develop partnerships with our clients, global HR partners and manning agencies using their expertise to align compensation programs for our growing business.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business leadership teams, global HR Partners and international Manning Agencies to strategize, develop and implement complex business solutions to address fleet compensation needs

  • Partners with the business on special projects to develop compensation programs to meet business needs, analyzing alternatives, creating project deliverables and providing project status reports to management

  • Compiles and analyzes market data, internal job relationships and geographic pay differentials.

  • Recommends new position grades and/or geographic differentials based on conclusions made from compiled research

  • Using market data, analysis tools and understanding of complex collective bargaining and non-collective bargaining agreements, designs wage scales and salary structures for fleet members

  • Works with internal communications to develop fleet communications regarding compensation including annual increases, incentives and equity grants

  • Analyzes, recommends and/or reviews promotions, adjustments and transfers for internal and external equity consulting with ma

  • Prepares summary and detailed reports for senior management as needed

  • Participates in salary surveys and audits.

  • Analyzes pay practices to ensure accuracy and compliance with all applicable local laws/union agreements

  • Proactively maintains a high level of business knowledge of client groups and the industry.

  • Keeps apprised of applicable federal, state local, international and maritime compensation related laws and regulations to ensure compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent work experience

  • 7+ years of experience in the area of Compensation, HR or related area

  • Strong project management skills

  • Ability to establish partnerships with business leaders

  • Highly flexible in approach to problem solving

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, such as VLOOKUPs, Pivot tables, charts, mail merge, etc.

  • Strong ability to research, analyze and interpret market and financial data
