DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW The City of Seattle is seeking qualified candidates for the position of a PeopleSoft Update Manager/Interface Lead in Seattle Information Technology's (Seattle IT) Applications Division. Seattle IT provides technology leadership for the City enterprise, developing common standards, architectures, and business solutions; focused on developing scalable, sustainable solutions that enable departments to deliver City services more efficiently and effectively to constituents. Job Responsibilities

Position Overview*:* The PeopleSoft Update Manager/Interface Lead will perform some support responsibilities for PeopleSoft 8.8 during the completion of an upgrade to PeopleSoft 9.2 version. Upon completion of the PeopleSoft upgrade to 9.2 and transition to the Application Support team, this position will support the PeopleSoft 9.2.

Position Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and analyze PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUMs) as they are released, making recommendations for which elements should be adopted by the City.
  • Manage the interface development from PeopleSoft and other applications within the city; develop and maintain interface standards.
  • Design and support interfaces between PeopleSoft systems and other third-party systems.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to the team.
  • Provide production batch processing support PeopleSoft financials system by working with Data Center staff.
  • Develop and administer O&M; and CIP budget to ensure operating stability and ongoing development of the PeopleSoft application.
  • Work with business analysts and/or users to perform technical analysis options and estimate.
  • Code, test, troubleshoot and document system issues and modifications, both for new development as well as maintenance.
  • Design and support interfaces between PeopleSoft systems and other third-party systems.
  • Develop and maintain financial management and accounting reports and queries.
  • Provide peer QA reviews on code and program modifications to ensure system internal controls and technical standards are maintained.
  • Translate business requirements into clear and concise technical documentation.Prepare scalable, robust, and flexible design documents, both conceptual and detailed.
  • Contribute to technical standards and procedures.
  • Proactively and effectively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to determine information needs and development requirements.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and subject matter experts to analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
  • May require some after hours on call support. Qualifications

Note: Equivalent combinations of education/experience/training will be considered for the required qualifications except where specifically noted. Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a closely related field. Experience:

  • Expansive knowledge and experience developing in PeopleSoft using the latest PeopleSoft 9.2 platforms and tools.

  • Strong understanding of a PeopleSoft operations and maintenance environment. Experience adopting PUMs.
  • In-depth understanding of release management and governance models.
  • Significant experience working as analyst-developer on various technologies including client/server applications, relational databases, web-based applications and data warehouse applications.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines concurrently.
  • Ability to be innovative, resourceful, reliable.
  • Demonstrated experience with source control mediums.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a professional team.
  • Experience working a Software Development Lifecycle (SDCLC). Additional Information

Salary: $45.00 - $67.51 Hourly
