What you'll be doing…
Come be a part of a team that employs amazing collaboration and broad swaths of technical skills to support cloud oriented solutions for our coworkers! Roll out brand new systems, iterate on existing ones, and support your colleagues as we balance all sorts of applications.
As an Enterprise Applications System Engineer for the Operations Team you will maintain and deploy the next generation end‐to‐end business tools to support a variety of systems critical to operations for all departments within Tableau. Your focus will be on supporting a variety of tools and systems built in AWS and using best practices to ensure dependent and robust services. You will be an active contributor and service owner. You work closely with triage, technical project managers, development and the internal customers to assist with ticket troubleshooting and resolution. You will also be the technical resource on larger implementation, integration, upgrade and migration projects. This role requires the ability to work within time constraints, act with good judgment in complex situations, and be able to take effective action in ambiguous situations. Some of the things you'll be doing include:
Act as primary system engineer for critical business systems and infrastructure as assigned.
Use your knowledge of AWS best practices to guide how we support operational excellence in Enterprise Applications.
Use best practices and automation to build and configure stable, scalable, and highly available application infrastructure.
Support global deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting and resolution for assigned systems.
Contribute to problem management, change control, release management and ticket tracking processes to minimize and streamline support activities.
Collaborate with software developers and technical program managers to implement appropriate solutions within the platform.
Track down issues and determine root‐cause, feeding bugs and improvement requests back into the development process.
Develop and maintain operational procedures and associated documentation.
Provide day to day support of these systems and find innovative ways through automation to implement tactical changes to minimize support activities.

Highly Technical . You are skilled in the following areas:
Several years experience with managing services inside AWS
Scripting experience with Bash and Python
Experience with Packer, Terraform, and other Hashicorp tools
Familiarity with CI/CD tools, especially Bamboo
Experience with Linux and Windows Server administration and engineering
Familiarity with configuration management, especially AWS SSM
Experience with mapping application data schemas and understanding data structures.
Experience with software development and deployment lifecycles.
Technically Savvy. You don't shy away from opportunities to get into technology - and you can learn it quickly.
Excellent Communication. You know what to say and more importantly, how to say it.
A True Team Player. You're the best at what you do and you know how to work with your colleagues to get their best.
Relentlessly High Standards. You're not satisfied with the status quo. You thrill in your accomplishments but also know it's about doing and improving.
Experienced. 2+ years of AWS System Engineering experience. Agile experience a plus.
Educated. You have a BS in Computer Science, Management and Information Systems, or equivalent experience + an Associate's Degree
