We are looking for a strong Data Scientist with significant mathematical or statistical modelling skills that can source, analyse and structure data from multiple sources. You will be responsible for rich analysis that will enable our International team to derive actionable customer insights for their product/service. We are looking for an experienced Sr. Data Scientist who would work on machine learning models and analysis. The role involves partnering with engineers and program managers to deliver new experiences to our users. You will have a proven track record of solving large, complex data analysis and machine learning problems in a real-world product development setting.

Ideal candidates should be able to identify a business or engineering problem and translate it into data science projects, dig out sources of data, conduct the analysis that would reveal actionable insights for our customers. This will pose enormous opportunities as well challenges that require intelligent and scalable algorithms and work involving data mining, advanced machine learning, statistical modelling, and other techniques.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Design and lead large scale analytical efforts that impact the business

  • Mine and engineer data from large and varied data sets (structured/unstructured)

  • Research, evaluate, implement, and present statistical methods to provide actionable customer focused insights

  • Develop strong collaborative working relationships with our GSX PM Leadership and Engineering PM’s

  • Communicate and evangelize methodologies and findings of business analyses to multiple levels of leadership across partner teams

  • Apply expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understand how users interact with both consumer and business products

  • Partner with Product and Engineering teams to solve problems and identify trends and opportunities

  • Help internal customers understand relevant data and turn it into actionable insights and decisions that inform planning and execution

  • Work with Product and Engineering teams to define and measure success of the products and services.

Qualifications

3+ years of experience in advanced data analytics, mathematical modelling, quantitative analysis or data modelling (using R/Python/SAS).

2+ years of experience in Data Engineering and mining data from structured or unstructured sources using one or more of following technologies – Hadoop/Cosmos/Spark.

2+ years’ experience with Data presentation tools like Power BI/Tableau/Qlik or equivalent.

A Master’s degree (PHD preferred) in Computer Science, Mathematics or a Data Science-related discipline.

Knowledge of data mining, machine learning, and associated technologies.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with hands on experience working with large datasets.

Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner.

Comfortable dealing with ambiguity.

Excellent communication, collaboration, organization and business partnership skills required.
